Biaxial Geogrids Fabric is manufactured out of polypropylene by a unique punching and drawing process and provide an ideal solution for soil stabilization, sub base reinforcement, foundation engineering and other highway challenges. Compact granular material partially penetrates over Biaxial Geogrid and projects through the apertures, which gives Interlocking action between the particles and the grid. This interlocking enables the grid to resist horizontal shear from the fill and mobilize the maximum bearing capacity of a soft sub soil. Biaxial Geogrid is engineered to be mechanically and chemically stable in aggressive soil environment and is not attacked by susceptible to hydrolysis, environment stress cracking and micro-organism attack. Biaxial Geogrid feature is high tensile stiffness at low strains and excellent resistance to construction damage and environmental exposure. A significant saving in the fill thickness can be achieved by using the Biaxial Geogrid range of products along with the improvement of resistance towards rutting.

    “A high-quality needle punched Paving Geocomposites Fabric that, when installed on a bituminous tack coat, performs as a Stress Absorbing Membranes Inter layer (SAMI) and inhibits the upward propagation of cracks from the underlying pavement into the overlay”. This condition is often referred to as reflective crack control. Paving Geocomposites Fabric offers optimum tensile strength with high corresponding elongation. This ensures that the saturated Non-woven will absorb stress but still follow the contours of the underlying surface. Paving Geocomposites Fabric exhibits critical bitumen retention properties that ensures sound adhesion between the old and new surfacing layers. This encourages bitumen to be drawn up from the tack coat and provides for an easy installation that results in a strong bond being developed between the fabric and underlying surface. Forms a permanent waterproof barrier that prevents moisture or water penetration into the road base from above. This protects the subsoil from water intrusion through the pavement and any subsequent reduction in bearing capacity. The product is available in several widths.

    Surface Preparation:
    The existing pavement surface has to be cleaned to remove dirt, oil, water and other foreign bodies. Large holes and cracks greater than 5 mm should be filled with warm asphalt or other suitable filler.

    Tack Coat:
    The correct quantity of bituminous tack coat should be sprayed onto the existing pavement surface.

    Laying:
    Paving fabric can be unrolled manually or mechanically. Mechanical unrolling helps minimise the number of wrinkles due to the fabric being stretched slightly during installation.
    It is recommended that Paving fabric be unrolled so that the labelled surface of the fabric is in contact with the pavement surface. Overlaps should be between 10 cm and 15 cm, and should be made in the paving (driving) direction. The use of extra bituminous tack coat is recommended between overlaps. Heavy trafficking on the Paving fabric should be avoided during installation. Wrinkles greater than 2 cm to 3 cm high, should be cut, open and laid flat.

    Asphalt Overlay Installation:
    Overlay installation can follow on immediately after the Paving fabric placement. A hot asphalt temperature is required to soften the underlying bitumen and to ensure maximum saturation of the Paving fabric in order to create the membrane effect. The temperature of the asphalt should not exceed 140°C when it comes into contact with the Paving fabric. An asphalt overlay thickness of 5 cm is recommended. An asphalt overlay thickness of 5 cm is recommended.

      Method to Use
      :
      • After the necessary protective coating/wrapping is given, pieces of rockshield are wrapped around the pipe (each piece overlapped by approximately 10 cm) and secured in place with polyester/polypropylene straps and buckles. Alternatively, self-adhesive polypropylene tapes may be used.

      • Protective Jacket for sub-surface oil and gas pipelines for "Rocky terrains"
      • Used to safeguard against physical damage and as a component in cathodic protection systems

      Advantages:
      • Rockshield has been specifically developed as a protective jacket for cross country pipelines.         The existing pavement surface has to be cleaned to remove dirt, oil, water and other foreign bodies. Large holes and cracks greater than 5 mm should be filled with warm asphalt or other suitable filler.

        Tack Coat:
        The correct quantity of bituminous tack coat should be sprayed onto the existing pavement surface.

        Laying:
        Paving fabric can be unrolled manually or mechanically. Mechanical unrolling helps minimize the number of wrinkles due to the fabric being stretched slightly during installation.
        It is recommended that Paving fabric be unrolled so that the labeled surface of the fabric is in contact with the pavement surface. Overlaps should be between 10 cm and 15 cm and should be made in the paving (driving) direction. The use of extra bituminous tack coat is recommended between overlaps. Heavy trafficking on the Paving fabric should be avoided during installation. Wrinkles greater than 2 cm to 3 cm high, should be cut, open and laid flat.

        Asphalt Overlay Installation:
        Overlay installation can follow on immediately after the Paving fabric placement. A hot asphalt temperature is required to soften the underlying bitumen and to ensure maximum saturation of the Paving fabric in order to create the membrane effect. The temperature of the asphalt should not exceed 140°C when it comes into contact with the Paving fabric. An asphalt overlay thickness of 5 cm is recommended. An asphalt overlay thickness of 5 cm is recommended.
