Geonets Geocomposites Fabrics are high strength polymer grids with integrally fused joints having high dimensional stability and junction strength.Manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HPDE), Geonets are also protected against environmental and ultra-violet degradation.

Slope Erosion Control: Geonets 131 along with Non-woven Geotextile are ideally suited for erosion control of slopes.

These are installed on the surface of slope along with top soil for vegetation growth:
  • Prevent erosion of soil by retarding the velocity of water run-off on slope with its three dimensional profile
  • Promote water percolation in soil as well for growth of natural vegetation
  • Once vegetation is established on the slope surface, the girds act as permanent reinforcing medium for grass roots
  • This helps in generation of dense grass cover by preventing the roots from washout even in adverse weather conditions

Method to Use
:
  • After the necessary protective coating/wrapping is given, pieces of rockshield are wrapped around the pipe (each piece overlapped by approximately 10 cm) and secured in place with polyester/polypropylene straps and buckles. Alternatively, self-adhesive polypropylene tapes may be used.

Application:
  • Protective Jacket for sub-surface oil and gas pipelines for "Rocky terrains"
  • Used to safeguard against physical damage and as a component in cathodic protection systems

Advantages:
  • Rockshield has been specifically developed as a protective jacket for cross country pipelines. Material containing stones and rocks are used as backfill for this pipeline passing through the rocky strata. Rockshield prevents mechanical damage to primary wrap/coating during back filling operations and more important ensures continued effectiveness of cathodic protection. The padding also offers protection during lifting and placing operations.
